Yeah. Shocker, I know. Seriously though. After stumbling upon a comment on the Tenjian page comment section from a Fandom User with a link to back up their claim, I checked to verify it's authenticity, and sure enough, there a missile called the 天劍, or Tien Chien, which literally translates to Sky Sword. The missile in question are a series of missile systems developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology in Taiwan for the Republic of China Air Force, or ROCAF for short. These are short range infrared guided air-to-air missiles that have fire and forget slave-by-radar capabilities. It consists of an imaging infrared seeker, a high explosive warhead, a solid propellant motor and a guidance control unit. The seeker uses dual spectral IR and has a detection range of 18.5km. The Sky Sword 1 is also used as a surface-to-air missile by the Antelope air defence system. The Sky Sword 1 (TC-1) missile was developed in the mid-1980s and revealed in May 1986, as Taiwan's first indigenous air-to-air missile. The production of the missile started in 1991 and the air-to-air version entered ROCAF service in 1993. So yeah, Tenjian is named after a legitimate missile, and not a city in China. Who knew?
