Minos

"Well, it comes from the word "minority." These days, most people are Adepts, so they are the majority. That makes us the minority, and so we're called "Minos."

Minos is a term from the world of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX. Derived from "minority", it is used to refer to humans who lack Septima, having been supplanted as the human majority by Adepts.

In Luminous Avenger iX, Demerzel leads the Sumeragi Institute of Human Evolution to hunt and slaughter Minos, while using the Butterfly Effect to subconsciously discourage interest in Minos or concern for their plight in all Adepts across the world. "Common sense" among Adepts holds that Minos are an inferior species who are undeserving of living. By the beginning of the game, most Minos have already been exterminated by Sumeragi.

There exists an urban legend, spread via the Under-net, of a warrior known as the "Luminous Avenger iX" who travels around the world rescuing Minos alongside the Muse of Hope "Lola". When Minos actually encounter iX and Lola, however, most of them avoid associating with the duo for fear that it would lead to their hidden living spaces being discovered.

After Demerzel and the Butterfly Effect's destruction, Blade (Sumeragi's second-in-command, and a Mino-turned-Adept previously brainwashed into serving Demerzel) is promoted to leader of Sumeragi. By the opening of Luminous Avenger iX 2, Minos are able to live in peace under her protection.
