Kurona is a DLC playable character in Mighty Gunvolt Burst from Gal*Gun: Double Peace and Gal*Gun 2. On the Nintendo 3DS and Switch, she was made available for $1.99 / 200 Yen, and on Steam and PS4 released as part of the Character Set: Rivals along with Copen and RAY for $4.99 / 540 Yen.
She is also the 4th DLC boss in Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, coinciding with the release of Gal*Gun: Double Peace on Nintendo Switch and the Horny Trinity special-edition collection. Defeating her grants the ability Dark Power, which changes Lola's appearance to Darkness Mode during Overdrive and sets the song to Beyond Probability (though this is purely cosmetic, lacking Darkness Mode's effects on gameplay from iX1). The DLC went on sale on March 24th, 2022 for $3.99 USD / 400 Yen.

Kurona is a neophyte demon who was sent to the human world to cause trouble and pull pranks. She has faster movement speed when compared to other characters...maybe because she is always running away from persistent demon hunters. Like Ekoro, her standard attack power is a bit low, but when she releases her inner demonic powers, she sees a rapid increase in her damage capabilities.[1][2]

A demon-in-training from the world "Gal*Gun Double Peace" stumbled into another dimension.
She's well known as a trouble-maker who says "HELL" a lot. She was on her way to the human world for extra lessons ordered by the Demon Academy when...she accidentally found herself in the world of iX 2.
Kurona loves pulling pranks, and doesn't miss the opportunity to torment Copen.[5]
Boss Battle Skills
Skill | Description |
---|---|
Creates a wall of smoke from which Mini-Kuronas will fly out at random elevations for a few seconds. Kurona will pre-empt the fight with this move (except the Mini-Kuronas fly into the cloud) and use it again several times over the course of the battle. |
Strafes across the screen and fires multiple homing projectiles. Starting Phase 2, she'll strafe another barrage as she returns to her original position. |
ワープDEATH![6] |
Teleports in a spark that splits into three. When the smoke settles, Kurona and two Mini-Kuronas will fly across the screen with their forks.
On Hard Mode, Kurona and her Mini-Kuronas will make multiple dashes. |
Summons two magic circles that fire 3 non-homing projectiles diagonally downwards. After the second barrage, Kurona will fly straight up, swooping on Copen's location before flying along the ground with a thrust.
On Hard Mode, the delay between Kurona flying away and swooping is reduced. |
Kurona's special skill. She'll teleport and fire a laser at ground level from both ends of the screen, then dive into the center and crash in a giant energy pillar. At the end of this move, two sets of Mini-Kuronas fly out at ground level and about halfway up the screen.
On Hard Mode, the Mini-Kuronas will make two more dashes across the screen after the pillar dissipates. |

Trivia
[Note that adding spoilers for Gal*Gun is not permitted.]
- Kurona's skill cut-in and portrait in Luminous Avenger iX 2 are reused from Gal*Gun Double Peace.
- Due to this, she is the only crossover character in the iX2 DLC to not have artwork made by Gunvolt series artist Yoshitaka Hatakeyama.
- Kurona is the first Gal*Gun character to receive an English voice actor.
- Kurona's Mini-Kurona attack in iX2 resembles the Devils' separation attacks from the Mega Man franchise.
- Kurona has numerous connections to Copen and Mytyl's maid, Nori, which together all but confirm that Nori is Kurona's older self.[7] Although this relationship is not referenced in iX2 proper since the Kurona fought has yet to meet any of the Kamizono family members, the Gunvolt News Channel Episode 38 stream heavily alluded to it.
- Her boss theme in iX2 is an arrangement of Swirling Confusion, her credits theme in Gal*Gun: Double Peace.[8]
- She is the only one of iX2's guest bosses who is not a protagonist in their own series.
- However, she does appear as a protagonist in another crossover, Mighty Gunvolt Burst.
