"Even should hope be lost.
Even should life be waning.
---The will to fight remains."
"D-nizer" refers to both the mission name and the titular challenge mode in Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, implemented with the free 1.1.0 update. It is unlocked by completing at least 3 stages in story mode with SS Rank, which necessitates using the "Primal Dragon" Gunvolt Image Pulse and completing the entire stage without switching back to Kirin. D-nizer Mode will be added to the main menu.
Overview[]
The mode itself is a survival mode challenging players to complete every stage in the game (except Futures Institute and World Moebius) in one nonstop run using Special GV. Special GV is largely subject to the same restrictions as in the main game, save for a few differences;
- Gunvolt's Fetters Gauge must NOT hit 0%, or the game will end. Your clear time and rank will be noted as blank, and a 0.5x multiplier will be applied to your score.
- As Kirin is unavailable in this mode, casting a Special Skill will simply drain a portion of Fetters instead of instantly emptying it.
- Arc Unleash command is replaced with "D-nize" ("Primal Dragonize"), and the activation speed is dependent on remaining Fetters gauge. With a low gauge, it takes much longer to activate than Arc Unleash in the main game (~6 seconds). D-nize is effectively the same as Anthem, significantly boosting GV's power, altering his abilities, and overriding the BGM. When activating D-nize, the "G-Counter" in the lower corner of the screen will increase by 5, start rising over time, and increase even further if GV is hit. If at any point the G-Counter hits 100%, the game will end, similar to losing all Fetters charge. D-nize will end when a Hexapyle is broken or a boss is defeated. G-Counter will persist throughout a run and there is no way to lower it. G-Counter percentage is recorded alongside best time and high score.
Similar to playing as Special GV in the main story, none of the bosses get access to Djinn's Wish for a revival save for ZedΩ.
Equipment[]
D-nizer Mode uses its own save file and has its own credits/equipment system. Gunvolt has a permanent credit magnet active, as unlike the main story, D-nizer Mode offers no other income beyond money pickups. Accessories have various effects, such as increasing Fetters gain or changing GV's skill, acting largely similar to the main game's Passive Image Pulses, though accessories come at max level and do not need to be upgraded. GV can wear up to four items at once.
