Crimm, "The Explosive Artiste", also known in Japan as "Fantastic Detonator", Crimm (“ファンタスティックデトネイター” クリム, Fantasutikku Detoneitaa Kurimu[3]), is one of the elite Falcons serving Sumeragi and one of the antagonists of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX.
A self-proclaimed artist obsessed with explosions, he abuses his authority as a Falcon to indulge himself in an all-consuming pyromania. He has an affinity for the Detonation Septima, which allows him to condense energy and release it as a devastating explosion.
Description
An Adept in possession of the "Detonation" Septima. He fires shots of densely packed energy that explode in highly contained, yet very powerful explosions. After transforming, he shields himself with a super-tough barrier that completely protects him from harm.
His personal creed is "Anything created by these beautiful hands is a radiant work of art!" Crimm is widely known as a charismatic beautician, but his true personality comes out every night when he goes around indiscriminately laying waste to any structure he sets his sights on. He's not a pyromaniac... he's a "blastomaniac." He feels justified in this mass property destruction since he genuinely believes there is no greater beauty in the world than acts born from his Septima.
In his eyes, he is the master of fine art and the world is his canvas. He was overjoyed at becoming a Falcon, as he gained legal authority to perform his "art" whenever he sees fit.[2]
Appearance
Crimm is a young man with red eyes and short, sandy blond hair. He wears a unique Falcon jacket in the form of a dark sleeveless long coat with orange accents, a grey shirt and a dark waistcoat, in addition to an orange scarf. His trousers are black with white accents and black straps around his calves, and raised to expose his shins, as well as brown boots. He also wears white arm-length gloves with black fingers and bracelets, and has a Falcon Quill pinned to his left breast.
In his weaponized form, Crimm's hair turns a bright orange, as do his irises and pupils, with his sclera turning black. His body is covered in a grey skin-tight suit layered with black and grey armor with orange accents, his legs in particular covered in large, stocky armor. He carries two large shields, each with a two-pronged fork, making them resemble crab claws. These are complimented by two large, orange armor pieces attached to his back.
Personality
Crimm, at his core, is little more than an obsessive pyromaniac. Nothing gives him greater pleasure than using his Septima as he pleases, seeing his destructive explosions as works of fine art to be admired. This makes him one of the few Falcons to genuinely enjoy his job, as his position has given him free reign to do cause as much devastation as he pleases. However, his duties as a Falcon are still secondary to his lust for chaos, as upon seeing Copen, he asks if he too is a fellow "art lover", and disappointed to learn of his true intentions. Nonetheless, he shows a zealous, almost carnal mentality in battle, filling the battlefield with gleeful quips and demented laughter.
Given that Crimm's love for explosions made specifically using his Septima, it's possible that his desires are rooted in some form of narcissism.

Auto-fab Plant - Encounter with iX
After breaking into a seemingly abandoned auto-fab plant for EN packs, Copen comes across Crimm in the centre, who, apparently unaware of his rampage, asks for Copen's intentions, disappointed to learn that he isn't here to marvel at his fine art, informing Copen that he intends to blow the entire building up in a glorious inferno. He imparts his arsonistic philosophy onto Copen, before transforming into his Weaponized form, declaring Copen's death to be his next masterpiece.
However, after an intense bout, Copen comes out on top, killing Crimm and making off with the EN packs.
Sumeragi Bunker 2 - Apparition
As Copen makes his way through Sumeragi's underground bunker, Demerzel creates holograms of the various Falcons he's fought and killed to stop him. One such hologram is Crimm, appearing before iX only to be swiftly slain.
Powers and Abilities
As a human attuned to the Septimal stage of the Lifewave and chosen as a Falcon speficically for his powerful abilities, Crimm is a powerful Adept who has access to the Detonation Septima, which allows him compress energy into spheres, which he can use for a variety of purposes; most often simply detonating them to cause massive, destructive explosions. Using these explosions, he can also propel himself through the air.
After transforming, Crimm gains two large claw-like shields in either hand. As well as having offensive capabilities, they increase his defence exponentially, allowing him to summon an impenetrable shield that not only protects him from his enemies, but also his own explosions. However, he is unable to fire any projectiles while the shield is up, making him unable to defend and attack at the same time. In addition, should his shields be broken, Crimm will become unable to activate his shield, leaving him far more vulnerable to attack in this state.

Trivia
- The Falcons are inspired by the Christian hierarchy of angels (known as Orders or Choirs), with their design based off the astrological signs of the western zodiac. Crimm is inspired by the fourth Choir, "Dominions/Lordships", and is based off the fourth zodiac, "Cancer".[1]
- Crimm may be based on Fighting Fefnir and users of Model F from the Mega Man Zero and ZX series. Just like them, Crimm uses explosive attacks and dual wields heavy artillery weapons that double as melee weapons. Crimm's orange color scheme also references Model F's color scheme.
- Crimm's EX Weapon (Photon Detonator) is similar to the Blast Shot and Burst Shot Ex Skills in Mega Man Zero 2 and 3 respectively, the former was obtained by beating Fefnir.
- Crimm's name is derived from "Crim", a British synonym for "criminal".
